Abstract(in English) We have successfully developed a new self supporting type of small fiber count optical cable which is suitable for the access cable application. The concepts of the new cable are 1. Decreasing cable diameter and cable weight in order to reduce the load on aerial structures such as telegraph pole. 2. Improving the workability for mid span access. Important feature of the developed cable is its dielectric structure by using G-FRP as strength member. Also, the cable core of the developed cable has C groove shape. In this report, we introduce the features of our newly developed cable as well as the performance of the trial cable which consist of 12 SM fibers.
