Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Hole-assisted optical fiber (HAF) cord hardly generates any bending loss when bent with a small radius, and has already been installed in the optical fiber home network, and is expected to be applied to optical fiber distribution in Central office (CO). However, HAF strongly confines a 1650 nm identification light which is used for current maintenance, therefore current identifier cannot be applied to HAF. We proposed a HAF cord identification method employing a visible identification light that does not affect communication. Furthermore, the method allows us to identify the HAF cord with the naked eye by using manual bending without an identifier in usual room right.
