Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we present a development process for "Smart Kitchen Utensil", which involves "xtel" Keio University Ubiquitous Content Project developed and Design Thinking methods. Smart Kitchen Utensil is a cookware embedded with some sensors and actuators, which allows users to put ingredients or cook over a fire. As an example of developing it, we introduce designing process of "panavi" system, a frying pan with embedded sensors and actuators inside, and also a communication module that improves user's cooking skills. From the early stage of developing the system to an exhibition "Ubiquitous Content Showcase 2009", we used xtel platform for prototyping. In this paper, we describe developmental process during this term as a case study of our design process.
