Comparison and Examination of Detection Algorithm of Calcification Shadows on Mammograms

Abstract(in English) Recntly, active researches have been done for computer-aided diagnosis system of mammography. Calcifications are seen as shadows of sharp pulse in mammograms. In order to find them automatically, various methods have been proposed. In this study, we propose two types of detection methods of calcifications. One employs Moravec operator which is one of the corner detection methods. The other uses normalizing the Fourier amplitude. In addition to, we compared the performance of our proposed methods to the top-hat transform as a conventional method, which is application of mathematical morphology. In this paper, we report each experimental implementation and the performance.
