| Abstract(in English) | The authors have previously proposed and continued to use various support techniques for adult students engaged in distance learning at the Shinshu University Graduate School on the Internet. We are focusing in particular on two types of support. The first is individual student support which exploits the unique characteristics of e-learning-i.e., the ability of students to begin studying at any time, and the ability to ascertain the study histories of individual students in real-time. The second is laboratory student support which aims to establish communication between students, and between students and teaching staff. This presentation discusses evaluation of these support techniques from the perspective of (1) evaluation relating to progress in the course, (2) evaluation relating to maintenance of motivation, (3) effectiveness of flexible modification of the study plan, and (4) the relationship between posts to the laboratory forum and progress in the course. For the system developed to provide this support, we evaluate (1) reducing the burden of support by using the system, and (2) evaluating the learning progress prediction feature which was prototyped in this system. |
