Abstract(in English) | Today, web services are increasing every single day and the demands for e-commerce are so high. The background of web service fashion is Cloud computer architecture. On Aug 2009 at ACM Queue by ACM, Goggle announced the revolution of GFS (Google File system) and it was changed the chunk size from 64MB to 1MB to meet the more high response interoperable I/O demands and its server switching time. To achieve this concept, the storage is located inside server need much more high read/write IOPS. NAND Flash SSD is good candidate for this storage device. There are also new requirement of Web services such as twitter and blog. The web service will be more timeliness response with interoperable communication. To achieve the web market requirement, NAND Flash SSD will be more popular than today. The challenge of NAND Flash SSD is its storage capacity and the write life cycle time. When SSD semiconductor production process to be minimized, its write limitation time is decreased. The proposing technology is L4 cache that is block level cache inside SSD with UPS to prevent the electric power off and un-proper system shutdown. This paper is introducing L4 cache SSD hardware block design in section 2 and its I/O performance evaluation n Section 3. Also evaluates SSD write life cycle time under L4 cache compare traditional NAND Flash SSD in Section 4. Section 5 and 6 show VMM server environment L4 cache SSD performance compare MLC SSD and section 7 is its conclusion. |
