Abstract(in English) Cloud cover has a great influence on the quality of remote sensing images and its retrieval products. Since the distribution of the cloud is dynamic, in current metadata standard for remote sensing, there is no such item to describe the local cloud cover, which leads to low efficiency when searching remote sensing data. In this paper we developed an algorithm for extracting cloud cover information at provincial level, and get the result directly from MODIS cloud mask data without geometric correction.
