Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Expectations for solar power and wind power sources continue to rise, but in wind power the fact that generated voltage various with wind velocity remains a difficult problem. Our laboratory has proposed a single-phase flux-controlled variable reactor, and used three units to implement voltage control in a self-excited induction generator. Single-phase reactors, however, require that the control power supply output impedance be set high, providing the needed bias field for magnetic core in the reactor. Three-phase AC, however, has a current total of zero, implying that the control power supply can be significantly simplified. This paper discusses an experimental investigation of a magnetic-flux controlled variable reactor utilizing this three-phase AC characteristic. Results indicate that controllability surpasses that attainable with single-phase implementations.
