Abstract(in English) | In-vivo measurement of dielectric properties for specified tissues is not easy to conduct in the frequency domain. In this study, using three kinds of SMA receptacles with different flanges and an open-ended semi-rigid coaxial probe without flanges, we measured the frequency characteristics of impedance for forehead, abdomen and forearm in the frequency range from 100MHz to 25GHz with a network-analyzer, and estimated their relative complex permittivities based on Mistra's formula. For validation, we also compared the estimated results with those measured by using a specially designed open ended coaxial probe (Agilent probe), which enables us to obtain complex relative permittivities directly. As a result, we found that the impedance and relative permittivity obtained with the SMA receptacles are not almost affected by their flanges, which are smaller than those with the semi-rigid coaxial cable. Comparison with the measured results from the Agilent method shows that the SMA receptacles and semi-rigid coaxial cable provide lower measurement results and good agreement, respectively, for the forehead, while the SMA receptacles gives fair agreement for the abdomen and forearm, despite higher results measured with the semi-rigid coaxial cable. |
