Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents an investigation on the SAR and radiation efficiency characteristics of planar slot antennas close to a human body. As a basic study, we have carried out the FDTD simulations and measurements by the E-probe method using an EM-phantom model at 900MHz and 2GHz. As a result, we found out that the values of SAR of an infinite slot antenna are about 1/4, compared with a dipole antenna. In addition, in the slot antenna of handset size, we found out that the values of SAR are 1/2 or less SAR of the dipole if there is 0.2λ more than width of a slot, and the slot antenna is more advantageous than the dipole also in radiation efficiency. Thus, a slot antenna is a promising candidate as an antenna used near the human body.
