| Abstract(in English) | The growth of wideband speech telephony enabled to transmit speech that has auditory presence. For quality evaluation of such speech, it is important to assess the auditory presence from the viewpoint of not only naturalness but also manifold quality factors that represent features of the speech. In this paper, we focus on a vocal characteristic as one of the quality factors of wideband speech, and we investigate an effect of bandwidth limiting on speaker verification. Some speaker verification tests were executed and a correct answer rate is used as effects of bandwidth limiting. Even if subjects listen original speech without bandwidth limiting, it may be difficult to judge the speaker because of variations of intonation and tone of same speaker or a likeness of vocal characteristic between different speakers. The above correct answer rate shows speaker verification accuracy not considering the difficulty of accurate judgment. From this point, to investigate a loss of speaker verification factors by bandwidth limiting, it is necessary to focus on original speech with speaker verification factors that subject can judge the speaker accurately. Therefore, we executed a speaker verification test for bandwidth limiting speech, and we present a method that measures a correct answer rate corresponding to loss of speaker verification factors by bandwidth limiting. |
