Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report proposes a simplified multiuser detector (S-MUD) that can drastically reduces computational complexity compared to the conventional multiuser detector (MUD) and applies S-MUD to an iterative receiver for uplink MIMO-OFDM interleave-division multiple access (IDMA). MIMO-OFDM IDMA, which is a combination of IDMA and MIMO-OFDM, has been investigated recently because it is expected to improve spectrum efficiency in mobile communications. The conventional MUD for MIMO-OFDM IDMA requires high-complexity matrix inversion in order to perform MMSE-based filtering which suppresses residual interference that is composed of both the other streams of the desired user and all streams of the other users. To cope with such a problem, this report proposes S-MUD that can avoid the matrix inversion by calculating bit log-likelihood ratio (LLR) from the received signal of each receive antenna and then combining bit LLRs of all the receive antennas. In addition, S-MUD is applied to the iterative receiver. Moreover, differently from the conventional iterative receiver that parallelly performs MUD and decoding, this report also proposes a serial iterative receiver that performs MUD and decoding for single user in descending order of the received power, and presents the serial iterative receiver employing S-MUD. Computer simulations with 4×4 MIMO-OFDM IDMA evaluate transmission performances of the parallel iterative receiver with S-MUD, and show that when the number of users is less than four, it can achieve the same transmission performance as the receiver with the conventional MUD. It is also shown that when the number of users is more than six, the serial iterative receiver employing S-MUD can improve performances and drastically reduce the computational complexity.
