Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents block error rate (BLER) performance comparison between cyclic shift and block spread CDMA with frequency hopping using joint maximum likelihood detection (MLD) exploiting channel coding information for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) in Long-Term Evolution (LTE). Simulation results show that the averaging of correlations between 2 frequency-hopped slots and those between 2 receiver antennas in the squared form is more appropriate that coherent averaging using estimated channel response. Hence, we show joint MLD without channel estimation is effective in reducing the increase in the required received SNR (Signal-to-Noise power Ratio) due to inter-code interference in long delay spread conditions. We also elucidate although block spread CDMA is superior to cyclic shift CDMA due to lower required received SNR in small delay spread environments, cyclic shift CDMA using joint MLD is more appropriate than block spread CDMA for supporting small-to-large delay spread environments.
