Abstract(in English) We report low insertion loss dispersion compensating fiber (DCF) module for compensating accumulated dispersion at 1.55μm-band in transmission system using 1.3μm standard single mode fiber (SSMF). With employing an appropriate profile to maximize figure-of-merit that indicates the degree of low insertion loss, newly fabricated DCF realizes the record high figure-of-merit of 450ps/nm/dB as well as low residual dispersion within ±0.08ps/nm/km in the C-band (1530-1565nm). Using this DCF, we also fabricate DCF modules and confirm their reliabilities and disabilities. The fabricated DCF module for 80km-long SSMF shows high performances of insertion loss as low as 3.6dB and PMD as low as 0.14ps.
