Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A compact infrared communication device with bidirectional directed transmission function is developed as a mobile terminal for an indoor high-speed optical wireless LAN (local area network). In order to realize high-precision control for optical axis of the terminal and miniaturization of the terminal equipment, a spatial omnidirectional control method by one-point support technique to orient the optical axis using a four-quad APD (avalanche photodiode) with high sensitivity and a mirror coil actuator with single axis control is proposed. By using this method, the optical axis point on the four-quad APD can be searched and controlled servo-actionably. We also have implemented this terminal equipment, which has transmission speed of 100Mbps and evaluated its communication quality.
