Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High image quality is an essential condition required for constructing displays with highly realistic sensation. There are several aspects on image quality. In this paper, motion-image-quality of displays is described as a factor of realistic sensation, after the relation between motion-image-quality and realistic sensation is briefly mentioned. While CRT has no artifact which deteriorates motion-image-quality, flat panel displays such as LCD, PDP and OLED, or field-sequential-color displays such as a kind of projector, have some essential motion-image-artifacts, such as motion blur, dynamic false contour, color break-up. Summary of them are described. Motion-image-quality of film systems is also mentioned.
