Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the metamaterials are gaining attention and are investigated due to their specific characteristics which the conventional materials do not have, such as negative refraction index. However, it is sometimes difficult to design metamaterials based on experience and theoretical consideration. Especially, the relationship between their electromagnetic characteristics and their configuration is often vague. Therefore, a mathematical structural design methodology of metamaterials may be useful for expanding engineering application of metamaterials in industry. In this report, a new level set based topology optimization method are constructed for designing left-handed dielectric metamaterials that consist of a waveguide and periodically located dielectric-resonators.
