Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the outline and the characterization test results of a high quality speech transmission system which the authors have developed for the relay broadcasting. This system utilizes the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology over cellular networks to transmit super-wideband speech signal sampled at 22.05kHz. Its characterization test results over several kinds of communication channels shows that the system achieved the end-to-end delay of 400-500ms by selecting appropriate communication channels. The system enables a live broadcasting anywhere because of a small, lightweight equipment and the use of existing mobile phone networks. These features can realize such applications of emergency news report and simple live remote.
