Millimeter-Wave Radio-on-Fiber System Using Base Station Switching Technique : Experimental Demonstration of Full-duplex Communication

Abstract(in English) To realize millimeter-wave radio on fiber (RoF) access system, a cost reduction of a central station (CS) is the one of the most important problem to be solved. The CS becomes large and high-cost because a number of RF and optical devices for each BS are needed in general way. We have already proposed a novel system configuration of millimeter-wave RoF access system, to simplify a CS. In the proposal, we adopted wavelength tunable lasers in the CS to switch BS. The switching is realized by changing the wavelength of the light source. In this report, the influences of adjacent wavelength channel interferences are investigated by measuring BERs (bit error rates). We successfully demonstrated that the bit error rates (BER) were below 10-9 in 40 wavelength channels (from 1530nm to 1560nm) without significant quality deterioration.
