Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Lately, the light emitting diode (LED) has been drawing attention because of its high performances. Because LED is DC drive, when LED is made to light up with AC power source, it is necessary to overcome various problems. Especially harmonics current flows into AC power line, and it may have influence to apparatus, it needs to consider a harmonics current problem according to electric power capacity. Power factor correction (PFC) circuits are used to address harmonics current problems far switching mode power supplies. However, PFC circuits have disadvantages in complicated circuit composition, high cost, and size. Therefore, a half-bridge type drive circuit for power LED, achieving low input current harmonic distortion without PFC circuit, is proposed. The validity of the proposed circuit was confirmed by observation results.
