Abstract(in English) | Several Methods for rendering subsurface scattering have been developed in computer graphics, and the methods are approximation models based on the appearance of illumination. It is important to investigate the characteristics of subsurface scattering because more accurate rendering models are required in the High Dynamic Range environment. In the paper, a numerical simulation model of subsurface scattering is developed, where a translucent object is descretized into small spherical volumes. Using the simulation model, irradiance distributions caused by subsurface scattering are calculated changing an incident angle of light and material parameters such as an albedo and a phase function. Then, we interpolate between two irradiance distributions to render subsurface scattering under various material parameters and incident angles of light. |
