Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Mid-infrared laser light is useful for an environmental monitoring because it has a high absorption coefficient to the gas molecule. Generally, when we use mid-infrared laser light for such that environment monitoring purpose and others, we use it with an air propagation system or a hollow optical fiber. On the other hand, in case of using a silica optical fiber that is regularly used for telecom-band wavelength, there is less report in regard of mid-infrared laser light use because of its huge amount of infrared absorption. For this reason, here we report the propagation characteristics of the optical fiber for telecom-band wavelength using mid-infrared laser light (3.3μm).
