Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper clarifies spectral features that cause unpleasantness of absolutely unpleasant sounds by acoustical analysis and listening tests of 16 kinds of unpleasant sounds. The acoustical analysis and listening tests revealed that high sound pressure level sound is unpleasant, unpleasant sounds have strong spectral components around 5~7kHz, the strong spectral components randomly appear both in spectrally and temporally. Further, degree of unpleasantness decreases by attenuating the high-frequency strong spectral components using inverse filters.
