Abstract(in English) | This article shows numerical results on the combined effects between confinement and material losses in Bragg fibers using a multilayer-division method. Dependencies of the combined effect on the cladding loss coefficient, number of cladding layer pairs, wavelength and so on are investigated mainly for the TE_<01> mode that exhibits the minimum loss. The evaluation shows the number of practical cladding pairs, the possibility of transmission in a new wavelength region, and the possibility of single mode transmission by the TE_<01> mode. |
