Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is important to provide information to help prevent loss of swallowing function in seniors as well as help in early treatment for rehabilitation. We developed a throat microphone measurement system to measure swallowing frequency automatically that is portable and capable of prolonged operation. This system consist of a throat microphone and throat sound wave form analysis. The throat sound wave form analysis is capable of detecting the swallowing sound with 86%. The microphone enables us to measure the frequency of swallowing without restricting subjects, hence we could collect significant data on swallowing frequency in various aspects of daily life.
