Abstract(in English) | In FIR, University of Fukui, continuous wave (CW) gyrotrons, power sources in frequency ranges of terahertz and sub-terahertz, have been developed. Up to now, seven CW gyrotrons have been developed. Here, experimental results of Gyrotron FU CW I, the first CW gyrotron developed in Fukui, are reviewed. It is the main issue in FU CW I operation that obtained output power is only half of the designed one. As a cause of the power shortage, shift of electron radius at the cavity is examined. Determination of the electron radius with a new idea and detail comparison between experimental and theoretical results give a solution for the power shortage. |
