Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In our previous study we have compared the selective sensing scheme with the collaborative sensing scheme in the physical (PHY) layer. In this paper we investigate the effect of the media access control (MAC) layer design on the performance of the distributed sensing schemes. The collaborative sensing scheme requires less time slots for completing distributed sensing. Whereas the extra time slots are consumed by the selective sensing scheme to exchange soft sensing information. If the same total time duration is assigned to both schemes. The collaborative sensing scheme can choose to employ more time duration for sensing or more time for reporting sensing information to the PU. In a typical scenario, by increasing the number of bits for reporting sensing information, the collaborative sensing scheme can improve the detection probability from 0.56 to 0.7.
