Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Learning Braille for visually impaired person needs a help by accompanying person because they cannot learn correspondence between a Braille character and a phoneme by themselves. Self learning system will help a learner to tackle Braille. We developed a spoken dialogue system for learning Braille for self learning of visually impaired person. Our system consists of Braille display that converts character to Braille, speech recognizer, speech synthesizer and dialogue manager. This prototype learning system is based on the hierarchical Multimodal Interaction System architecture proposed by The working group of ITSCJ.
