Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Network coding is novel technique to improve network throughput and performance by encoding appropriately over the nodes in the network and works particularly well in multicasting. We expect that network coding will reduce the bandwidth utilization of IPTV service which comes to provide a multiple number of channels and high-definition video with IP multicast. However, it is difficult to apply network coding to commercial network because the actually-used routers have no coding facilities. In this paper, we study on the configuration of network coding for IP multicast, which attaches external devices to routers instead of replacing them with network coding routers.
