A P2P Management System for Preventing Malicious Files from Spreading

Abstract(in English) In recent years, P2P file sharing systems have become one of the most popular applications in networks. However, because of the nature of the openness and anonymity of P2P applications, it is very hard to control peers that can join the system and also to trace the originating peers of shared files. Therefore, P2P systems have also become an avenue of attack and in practice a lot of malicious files are shared in P2P systems in addition to legitimate files. In order to manage P2P networks and prevent the malicious files from spreading, we propose a centralized P2P management system (C2MS) using the reputation of both file and peer. Some simulation results demonstrate that our proposed C2MS can work well even in serious attack situation.
