| Abstract(in English) | This paper describes a heterogeneous type cognitive radio system that has been developed by NICT. This system conforms to IEEE1900.4 standard and composed of cognitive radio base station and network reconfiguration manager. The cognitive radio base station connects to the most suitable wireless data communication device from multiple selected from multiple wireless data communication devices attached to it according to configured user's preferences and instructions from the network reconfiguration manager. As a result of this function, user terminals can access to the Internet using the most suitable Radio Access Technology (RAT) and Radio Access Network (RAN) via the cognitive radio base station. Fundamental functions of this system was confirmed through demonstration evaluations in an IEICE workshop in March 2009. |
