Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since BGP routing changes in the Internet have a global impact ranging from degraded quality of service to complete loss of connectivity, locating the origin of BGP routing changes is important for Internet service providers to ensure their service performance. Due to the Internet's sheer size, complexity and various routing policies, it is difficult to infer the causes of large amount of BGP updates that occur from time to time, although there are some studies that have proposed locating methods by clustering BGP update messages collected at multiple measurement points. In this paper a new locating method of the origin of BGP routing changes based on the simulation analysis is proposed. The method is evaluated through some analysis of experimental networks and public measurement data. By comparing the inference results with APAN's maintenance trouble-tickets, we verified that our method has considerable potential that can locate the origin of BGP routing changes precisely.
