Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless on-body area communication is of importance for medical and healthcare services. It is expected to transmit various medical and healthcare data on the human body from vital sign sensors with a high security and high reliability. In this study, the on-body UWB propagation characteristics were measured with an emphasis on the body movements and floor effect, and a UWB on-body channel model was developed then. The developed channel model consists of a small set of parameters to generate impulse responses. Based on the impulse responses, the average bit error rate (BER) performance was investigated for a typical UWB-IR on-body communication system.
