Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We construct a three dimensional map database which consists of three-dimensional features such as buildings, roads, road signs, curve mirrors, electric poles, traffic signals, fences, guard rails, trees, walls of street space in Tomari Area in Maebaru City in Fukuoka Prefecture. We examined the system requirements about three dimensional real world database systems when we built the three dimensional map database based on the surface model where the shape of features is represented by a set of triangular polygons. We concluded that some techniques are needed to manage the database. They are representative value representation such as length and width of features, spatial constraint to describe that different features have the same shape, spatial constraint to describe that different triangular polygons exist on the same plane, management of parent-child relationships between three dimensional feature elements.
