Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes pose estimation problems and rotation matrix estimation in computer vision. One pose estimation problem described here is registration of corresponding point sets X, Y, which estimates a rigid body transformation (in particular, a rotation matrix) that gives the best match between X and Y. Another problem is a regression-based object pose estimation method, which estimates function f that gives the estimates of pose parameters p for a given image x. Estimating a rotation matrix is required for using rotation matrices as the pose parameters of three degrees-of-freedom pose.
