Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is well-known that the switch type filtering is effective for a restoration of the image corrupted by impulse noises. This filtering algorithm consists of two stages, that is, the detection of the noise position and the restoration of pixel values corrupted by noises. Especially, the filtering is applied to only noise corrupted pixels in the restoration stage. As the method for restoration, some methods have been proposed so far. In this report, a new type of method for restoration, which is based on the local similarity, is proposed. The characteristics and effectiveness of the proposed method are revealed through the experiments.
