Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a method of WAN traffic decomposition. A state space model is constructed for the incoming WAN traffic observed at the gateway node of Hosei University. Particle filter and Kalman filter are compared for the signal decomposition based on the same state space model. Maximum likelihood method is utilized for the meta parameters estimation. It was shown that the rapid sporadic state change can be well detected by the particle filter. The particle filter may be useful for the decomposition of WAN traffic with sporadic abrupt burst component. |
