Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed a novel configuration for a tunable optical dispersion compensator (TODC) with increased bandwidth consisting of an AWG-based double pass spectrometer and a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS)-based spatial light modulator. We demonstrated the 40-wavelength channelized operation of the proposed TODC. We obtained a CD of 400ps/nm with a 3-dB bandwidth of 52GHz, which is 2 times wider than that obtained with the conventional configuration. This TODC substitutes 40 conventional TODCs with a single module, and thus is a promising candidate for use in future networks.
