Abstract(in English) Integrated photonic switch fabric with nanosecond reconfiguration time and broad operating bandwidth is of particular interest for the future ultra-high capacity optical-packet-switching networks and optical interconnection systems. We demonstrate, for the first time, a monolithically integrated InP 1×16 switch based on optical phased array. Basic static characteristics such as broad wavelength operation covering the entire C-band, extinction ratio of 17dB, on-chip loss of 4-8dB, and low-penalty transmission of 40-Gbps signal are demonstrated successfully. We have also developed a switching driver circuit, which enables dynamic switching to all the 16 ports with the rise/fall time of less than 11 ns.
