Abstract(in English) | Perception of physical property, such as softness, is a basic role of human fingers as well as holding objects. The authors have carried out some experiments of human perception of elastic soft objects. This paper overviews the role distribution among tactile, proprioceptive and visual information, control strategies in human pinch motion while perceiving elastic softness, a softness display device based on fingertip contact area control and a system for remote softness sharing. |
