Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, it became possible to easily produce interactive contents by the help of development environments, such as Flash. Produced contents utilize audio-visual effects in an efficient way. Haptic devices, on the other hand, enabled production of interactive contents by adding the sense of touch into them. Considering the benefits of both approaches, we developed a highly interactive language learning system by combining Flash with a haptic device, called SPIDAR. The system is called as INSTILL and evaluated on a learning-experiment. Experiment results suggested that combination of Flash and SPIDAR made a major contribution to the subject concentration.
