Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses creating synthetic videos in which an actor as a teacher explains about an educational material in the form of a 3D virtual object in a virtual studio. When we produce such videos, two functions are simultaneously required. One is the function that enables the actor to manipulate the virtual object by his/her hand in order to show an explanation area to viewers. The other is the function that enables the actor to manipulate the virtual object while seeing it. We propose that the actor manipulate a real object in a specific color called a key color with the same size and shape as the virtual object. The real object is replaced with the virtual object based on the key color by a technique called chromakeying. The movement of the real object is reflected in that of the virtual object in order to enable the actor to manipulate the virtual object.
