Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper studies about application and analysis of simple bifurcating neurons with saw-tooth base signal. Repeating integrate-and-fire behavior between the threshold and base, the neurona can exhibit rich nonlinear phenomena. First, we analyze basic bifurcation phenomena precisely by an enbedded return map. Next, we introduce A/D converter based on bifurcating neuron. The spike-train is converted into the digital output by applying the spike phase modulation to the spike train. A periodic spike train input is applied via a refractory threshold, and the orbit can be super stable periodic orbit. We then clarify effects of the refractoriness on the encoding function of the system.
