Growing particle swarm optimizer with a population-dependent parameter

Abstract(in English) Particle swarm optimizer with growing structure is considered in this paper. If a particle exploring the optimum is stagnated then a new particle is born and the swarm can grow depending on the property of objective problems. In order to control the growing, we introduce an acceleration parameter that attenuates as the number of particles increases. Performing numerical experiments for typical benchmarks, the algorithm efficiency is evaluated in several key indicators such as success rate, the number of iterations and the number of particles.
