Performance Evaluation of User Selection with Average SNR in Base Station Cooperation Multi-User MIMO

Abstract(in English) Recently, Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) has been attracting much attention. However, the throughput performance of MS in the cell edge is significantly degraded in cellular MIMO system. For solving this problem, a base station cooperation (BSC) MIMO technology attracts much attention. In addition, in BSC MU-MIMO, the enlarged channel capacity by BSC-MIMO is distributed to the signal transmission of each MS, and thus broadband wireless access can be established. However, for selecting the optimal user, computational complexity is huge. This paper proposes the selection method of using the average received SNR for reducing the computational complexity but achieving large capacity in BSC MU-MIMO down-link system. The proposed method reduces computational complexity significantly compared to the optimal method, if it accepts the small degradation of channel capacity. Moreover, compared to single BS MIMO environment, BSC-MIMO system achieves large channel capacity, due to the diversity effect for shadowing.
