Performance Analysis of CDTD-VC in a Distributed Antenna System

Abstract(in English) Vector Coding (VC) is a transmission scheme which can obtain path diversity gain while multiplexing the transmitted signals orthogonally by using the eigenvectors of the channel matrix between transmitter and receiver. In VC, it is shown to be able to achieve better BER performance by the effect of path diversity gain compared with OFDM which has already been put to practical use by the system of wireless LAN etc. In the cellular communication system which is the means to use the radio frequency effectively, it is important to improve the communication quality near cell edge. To solve this problem, design of the base station distributed antenna system (DAS), in which multiple base stations process the signal together, is effective. Using VC in a DAS, it is necessary to multiple the transmission weight at each base station. Although the performance improves by increasing the number of base stations in a general DAS, to the best of authors' knowledge there has been no literature about the case of using VC. In this paper, we apply VC to distributed antenna system and evaluate the performance and the effect of the number of base stations by computer simulation.
