Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many high-resolution direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation methods using array antenna have been proposed and they have been used for antenna patten control or positioning estimation in wireless communication systems. These DoA estimation methods are based on the assumption of coming wave to be a plane wave. However, this assumption is not approved in flat fading depression because phase differences among array antenna elements are independent on the path differences in such a environment. Therefore, DoA estimation accuracy degrades in a flat fading environment. To solve this problem, we propose a newly DoA estimation methods. It has two array antennas that are placed away from each other and employs space diversity for DoA estimation. We evaluate DoA estimation performances of the proposed method by computer simulations and field tests. It results that the proposed method can improve 17% DoA estimation accuracy compared with the conventional ones in a flat fading environment.
