Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When using Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) for multi-hop transmissions, each relay node decodes received massages and requests retransmission to its previous node when it detects errors. Thus, every relay node is required to spend extra power and time because of retransmissions and decodes for collaboration of transmission by the source node. We propose a new Hybrid-ARQ (HARQ) scheme that can reduce load of each relay node but maintain high throughput. In this scheme, a relay node checks errors in a received packet and judges whether its next node will succeed in correcting errors. When the node judges that its next node will succeed, it transmits the packet to its next node without decoding process. On the other hand, when the node judges that its next node will fail, it decodes the packet in advance and makes an "error-free" packet. We derive throughput performance in order to show the effectiveness of this scheme.
