Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel optical OFDM transmission where the frequency spacing of subchannels is less than the symbol rate. We show that the novel optical OFDM achieves an OSNR sensitivity level equivalent to those of the conventional optical OFDM through the numerical simulation. We confirm the feasibility of the novel optical OFDM and measure the level of chromatic-dispersion tolerance through the experimentation. We also analyze the influence of the chromatic dispersion on the optical OFDM signal. We show experimentally that it is possible to mitigate the signal degradation due to the chromatic dispersion by optimizing of the symbol timing between subchannels and orthogonally polarizing to the neighboring subchannels.
