Abstract(in English) To accomplish the satellite retransmission system for terrestrial digital broadcasting TV signals, attenuation due to rain or snow attachment on the antenna dish will be severe problems. To address those issues, the diversity system is effective candidate. To verify the Sat. D system characteristics of the experimental unit of the manufactured Sat. D system, measurements of the long-term propagation experiments are carried out by using the JSAT-3 (128°E) and BS (110°E) satellite signals from Nov. 2006 to Oct. 2008. The non-snow attached Lune-Q antenna is used due to multi-satellite reception ability. The measured results clarify that by using the Sat. D unit, the satellite link unavailability time percentage of the Sat. D system can be improved by approximately 1/10^, that of the value obtained without the Sat. D system. On the other hand, to obtain the attenuation characteristics from the signals of both satellites and to derive the theoretical Sat. D system characteristics, propagation experiments are carried out by using a Lune-Q antenna. To expand the capability of the availability improvement of the system, combination of the Sat. D system and Time-delayed (TDD) diversity system is examined and confirmed its effectiveness.
